Aesthetic. The oval, black cocotte from Staub is an attractive addition to any kitchen and dining table. It looks good and creates incredibly delicious dishes for you to spoil yourself and your loved ones. Cocottes originate from France and are traditionally used for braised dishes.

On the hob or in the oven. Cocottes from Staub can be used on the hob or in the oven and even on an induction hob as they are made of cast iron.  Staub uses matte black enamel to coat their cocottes on the inside – a pleasing contrast to the black exterior. The enamel also enhances the cast iron’s braising effect allowing your dishes to become exceptionally aromatic. These materials are also robust and durable. You will enjoy a cocotte from Staub for a very long time and create many delicious meals in it like a master chef.

Self-Basting Design. Due to the superior construction of the Staub cocotte lids, less humidity can escape during the cooking process. 10% more moisture is retained inside the Staub cocotte after 55 minutes of cooking than in competitors' products.*

The self-basting system consisting of distributed spikes over the whole inside flat lid ensures a continuous rainfall effect over the food inside the cocotte. The Staub self-basting system in the lid is 9 times more effective than conventional lids.**
